                  Seed Art

Seed painting is a unique decorative art form where seed are used to paint a determined drawing. This is a simple activity just perfect for children of all ages.

Materials Needed:

  • Seeds (quantity depending on the drawing selected to decorate)
  • Drawing
  • Glue (hot or regular) or bee wax
  • A carboard for base

Activity:

After selecting the image that you will decorate, apply glue to a small portion of the drawing, remember that if you cover too much of the drawing, the glue will dry off.  If you used bee wax, you will cover the entire image, bee wax usually last from one to two weeks (covered with a plastic sheet). After applying the adhesive material, it is time to start putting your favorite seeds according to your drawing.

This a wonderful activity where the participant will be able to paint using seeds. This activity is performed by our artisans at a proper pace, coping with the participant's skills. A hot glue gun could be used to apply glue to the based drawing; be wax could also be used, the preference of the audience to use either of thse two materials will depend on the participant's ability to work with either one.

Flowers  in a base                                The difference in the shape of the flower will depend on the number and tuype of seed to be used. If the artisan used large seeds, the image will have a higher relief than with the small seeds. The color of the imaga will also depend on the color of the seeds.
