The brilliant plumage of birds suggested to the early Indians of Mexico a way to capture, preserve and use their beauty. In the cold countries of the north, birds ussually have dull colors, with the exception of cardinals. bluebud and the oriole.
In the tropical areas, almost most of the birds have beautiful bright colors. The jungles of the world possess such a great variety of exotic birds that is hard to keep track of all the species that exist. In Mexico alone, there are more birds than in the northern countries; many of these birds which live in the mountain and jungle areas, have amazing and brilliant feathers. In Mexico is common to find all kind of parrots everywhere; you will also be able to hear their sharp amny-toned screems flashing across roads in a such spectacular air-show. The jungles arealso the favorite place for the parrots to hang arround, there we find every kind of them from love birds to the extraordinary macows.
In Mexico even the song birds have bright and beautyful plumage. The colors these tropical birds couls easily exceed any famous painting in the world; SORRY PICASSO! that is why the Indians of Mesoamerica developed the exquisite art of "feather painting".
